Naver Blog's robots.txt blocks Naver's own crawler and allows posts for Daum's crawler
Naver Blog's robots.txt disallows only Naver's crawler (Yeti) and allows post URLs for Daum's crawler. Of the 10 platforms we checked the same day, Naver Blog RSS, Naver Cafe, Naver Smart Store, and Naver Place disallowed every search crawler including Daum's, and Daum's Customer Center says its crawler follows robots.txt rules.
Daum is Korea's second search portal, now run by Upstage, which finalized its acquisition of Daum's operator in May 2026. Brands that publish on Naver often ask whether the same posts can reach Daum search, and the answer is written in each platform's robots.txt and in Daum's own documents.
Both portals' search results pages are disallowed for crawlers by robots.txt, so we did not fetch them. Instead we fetched the robots.txt of 10 platforms and 5 Daum Customer Center documents and compared them.

Naver Blog blocks only Naver's own crawler

Fetched on 2026-09-14. "Daum" is the crawler token named in Daum's Customer Center; Yeti is Naver's crawler.
User-agent: Yeti Disallow: /
Crawlers not named in the file follow the * group, and that group allows post URLs. So the Daum, Google and Bing crawlers can crawl Naver Blog posts.
robots.txt governs outside crawlers. Naver Search reaches its own blog posts through a path outside this file.
Finding 02
Naver Blog RSS, Naver Cafe, Naver Smart Store, and Naver Place disallow Daum's crawler too
Disallowed for every search crawler: Naver Blog RSS, Naver Cafe, Naver Smart Store, and Naver Place. Daum's crawler cannot crawl those URLs, so robots.txt gives Daum search no crawl route to the information there.
When users report that their Naver Blog posts don't appear in Daum, Daum's Customer Center asks them to send the blog URL and RSS feed URL. That RSS host (rss.blog.naver.com) now disallows every crawler we checked.

Daum says it crawls every page it can unless the site opts out

Daum's Customer Center gives the crawler's user agent as "Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Daum/4.1; +http://cs.daum.net/faq/service/15/category/4118/detail/28966)". It also says Unified Web search gathers documents from blogs, cafes, web documents, encyclopedias, Brunch Story and Kakao Story and shows the most relevant first.
Site owners can register crawl Seed URLs in Daum Webmaster Tools: RSS or Atom feeds, list pages or sitemaps. Daum adds that pages appear according to its search criteria whether or not a Seed URL is registered.

So what does it take to reach Daum search as well?
- Posts on platforms that allow Daum's crawler, such as Naver Blog, can be crawled without separate registration. Check first that they are set to public.
- Information that lives only on Naver Cafe, Naver Smart Store, and Naver Place should also be published where Daum's crawler is allowed: a blog or your own site.
- For your own site, register a sitemap or RSS feed as a crawl Seed URL in Daum Webmaster Tools. Only the domain owner can register it.
Methodology
- Evaluated with RFC 9309: the group naming the user agent applies if present, otherwise the * group; the longest matching rule wins.
- Daum's crawler was evaluated under the token "Daum", as named in Daum's Customer Center. Brunch's robots.txt also names a separate "Daumoa".
