Case study
Weight loss clinics: how we built 8 sites
Each clinic type built out for both Gangnam and Gangbuk in Seoul. All 8 started at zero impressions and reached 52,500 impressions in the 60-day reporting period, measured in Naver Search Advisor. The period is 60 days, but the sites were live for 33 days on average.
4 clinic types × 2 regions
4 × 2 = 8 sites
- Sites built
- 8 sites, split by clinic type × region and built on the same structure. Every one launched as a new site with zero impressions.
- Impressions, last 60 days
- 52,500 in total. Top site 14,000; median per site 6,350.
- Days live
- The reporting period is 60 days; the sites were live for 33 days on average.

Before we started
Weight loss clinics: what we diagnosed first
Before deciding what to build, we looked at what was keeping these businesses out of search.
What we checked
- Whether to split clinic types by treatment or by body area
- Where advertising limits for a regulated field draw the line
- Which regional unit to use
- Whether the HTML that crawlers receive actually contains the body copy
The problem
The field splits into distinct clinic types (Korean medicine, dermatology, body contouring and esthetics), but one site tried to cover them all. It is also a regulated field with narrow limits on what can be said, so the first task was working out which queries were viable.
So we split the sites by clinic type × region. Even within “weight loss,” the people looking for a Korean medicine clinic are not the people looking for a dermatologist. Clinic type came first, then Gangnam and Gangbuk were layered on top.

Work and results
Weight loss clinics: from zero to 52,500 impressions
Between the starting point and today’s numbers is the work. Here are all three side by side.
- Before
All 8 sites at zero impressions
New sites with no pages that could appear in search, and no way in beyond brand-name searches.
- What we did
Split by clinic type × region, same structure 8 times
We launched the sites, expanded the pages that could surface in search, wrote the content, submitted everything to search engines and added evidence that can be verified off-site. The five steps below show the order.
- Now
52,500 impressions, last 60 days
Top site 14,000, median per site 6,350. The sites were live for 33 days on average.
Week by week
Weight loss clinics: what happened over 33 days
The average of 33 days live across all 8 sites, divided into five stretches.
- Week 1 · Days 1–7
Launched sites by clinic type and region
Korean medicine clinics and dermatology clinics attract different searchers. Clinic type was split first, then crossed with Gangnam and Gangbuk.
- Week 2 · Days 8–14
Expanded with each clinic type’s own queries
Searches for a Korean medicine clinic differ from searches for an esthetics studio, so each type got its own answer pages.
- Week 3 · Days 15–21
Wrote about the process rather than results
To stay within medical advertising rules, pages cover the treatment process, how long it takes and what to prepare.
- Week 4 · Days 22–28
Registered all sites with search engines
Every clinic-type and region site was submitted to the search engines with a sitemap.
- Week 5 · Days 29–33
Made the same name visible off-site
Supporting links for each clinic type let the name be confirmed outside the site.
