워드프레스 코어가 스스로 내는 SEO 설정은 7가지이고, 메타 설명은 직접 넣는 항목으로 적었습니다
플러그인 없이도 워드프레스 코어가 SEO 관련 7가지를 스스로 냅니다. XML 사이트맵(/wp-sitemap.xml)·robots.txt·robots 메타 태그·검색 엔진 가시성 설정·고유주소·표준 URL(rel=canonical)·title 태그입니다. 메타 설명·키워드 태그는 기본으로 들어 있지 않다고 공식 문서가 적어, 테마에 직접 넣거나 플러그인으로 채웁니다.
워드프레스를 설치하면 SEO 설정이 어디까지 이미 되어 있는지부터 궁금해집니다. WordPress 공식 문서와 코드 참조를 열어, 코어가 스스로 내는 것과 비워 둔 자리를 나눴습니다.

그럼 워드프레스에서 무엇부터 설정하나요?
- 설정 → 읽기에서 「검색 엔진이 이 사이트를 검색하는 것을 차단」이 꺼져 있는지 먼저 봅니다. 켜져 있으면 noindex 가 나가고 사이트맵도 멈춥니다.
- /wp-sitemap.xml 이 열리는지 보고, 그 URL을 구글 서치 콘솔과 네이버 서치어드바이저에 제출합니다(「사이트맵 제출, 구글·네이버 공식 문서 대조」 편).
- 설정 → 고유주소에서 「글 이름」처럼 글 제목이 드러나는 구조를 고릅니다. 운영 중에 바꾸면 기존 URL이 바뀌므로 옛 URL 의 301 리다이렉트를 같이 준비합니다.
- 클래식 테마는 add_theme_support('title-tag') 가 켜져 있는지 확인합니다.
- 메타 설명은 테마 header.php 에 직접 넣거나, 사용자 정의 필드·플러그인으로 글마다 채웁니다.
